Lava – A picturesque spot in the Darjeeling Himalayas

Lava is famous for natural excursion, tracking, wild life and bird watching. Lava is around 27km. from Kalimpong and 15km from Pedong. Neora Valley National Park situated very near to Lava is famous for the virgin forest patch. Neora Valley National Park spread over an area of 88sq.km is famous for a number of animals like Red Panda, Himalayan Thar, Tiger, Goral, Himalayan Black Bear, Wild Dog and birds like Redstart, Whistling Thrush, Golden Headed Black Finch, Niltava, Yuhina etc.. The breathtaking view of Himalayas and sunrise from Jhandi Dara is awesome.

Climate:
If you are looking for a break from the hot climate of the plain, Lava offers you a very suitable climate. Summers (April-June) are mild and winters are cold. Snowfall during the winter can be seen.
